Position: Hospital Administrator
As a Hospital Administrator you will provide technical oversight to Port Florence Community Hospital. You will primarily be responsible for the implementing the vision, strategy and management of the health care delivery.
Essential responsibilities

Provide technical supervision and technical support to PFCH’s health programming activities including developing and maintaining a monitoring and evaluation system for the program

Oversee the collection and timely reporting of data and statistics for all programs (including objectives, indicators and outcomes of health programs) according to internal and donor requirements

Work with senior management team, field based organisations to facilitate strategic planning for future health care delivery programs.

Ensure that PFCH health care delivery adheres to standardized protocols, policies and guidelines according to Ministry of Health and WHO.

Work closely with the senior management and field based organisations to determine the operational needs of PFCH within the scope of available resources and grants

Ensure timely and adequate provision of supplies and drugs through review of pharmacy consumption reports, national drug protocols, hospital budgets, acquisition of partner agency drug kits, and health information materials.

Work with field based organisations, partner agencies and national health authorities to; ensure outbreak preparedness and contingency planning, constantly assess the medical needs of the community and plan how best to respond them

Represent PFCH at health coordination meetings as well as other meetings which are relevant for enhancing PFCH visibility and programme activities

Serve as the first point of contact with MOH and other partners on matters related to the PFCH administration and healthcare delivery to ensure accountability, creation of a positive image and overall credibility of PFCH

Maintain open lines of communications with all staff to uphold the hospital’s Code of Conduct, ethics and values

Support direct supervisors in ensuring staff performance evaluations and professional development plans

Assist in the selection and training of qualified program health staff, recommend promotions, and implement disciplinary action and termination of staff in consultation with the Country Director and Finance Director.
Requirements

Minimum medical degree; preferably with a Master’s in Public Health or Hospital/ Health Services Management

Managerial level experience in a hospital setting relating to primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and other communicable diseases

Excellent communications skills, both oral and written

Self and group motivation skills

Ability to work with a broad spectrum of people including; medical and non medical staff, donor agencies, government officials, community and INGOs

Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations

Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources

Ability to assume non-medical responsibilities from time to time to cover for other team members

Skills and knowledge in program sustainability and capacity building, public-private partnerships and project monitoring and evaluation (both quantitative and qualitative methods)

Proven capabilities in leadership required

Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field and HQ, counterparts, senior government and rebel leaders and other related regional players
