Project Involve

Project Aim:
Widows and Orphans International (WOI) has an exciting new programme called Project Involve!  This is three year project aims to improve mental health and care outcomes for traumatised refugees and asylum seekers in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

What are we going to do?

  • WOI has trained Volunteer Mental Health Champions ready to support users/clients  to  access mental health services through weekly, one to one information, advice and guidance, and to attend practical support sessions.
  • We want to work with service users so that they are empowered to self-manage their conditions and make informed choices.
  • WOI will also work in partnership with local service providers to reduce the gap in the uptake of mental health services among the target group.

Who will benefit?
Project Involve seeks to work with refugees and asylum seekers who have low level mental illness and are resident in the Barking and Dagenham, but are not accessing services.
