Training and Development

altThe aim of the training courses offered through WOI training programmes is to provide accessible training, ending with qualifications that can be mapped to the National Standards (QCA), and that will improve employability prospects of our learners. The age range of our learners is from 18 to 60.

The department is responsible for running accredited vocational training courses and related skills development programmes. We have over 12 years' experience of engaging and working with the community and employers to create sustainable employment through skills development.

The services offered by WOI Training fits very well with our Objectives and Values for expanding our provision of employment, development and support to refugees and asylum seekers in Barking and Dagenham and neighbouring Boroughs.

The target  groups are mainly learners who don’t easily fit into mainstream learning institutions and have found a welcome reception at WOI.  Many are resident in the UK and are retraining to update their skills for the job market or learning English as a second language.
